What does the usage fee, i.e. the membership, consist of?
Example 1: A new company that does not yet have a turnover or has a small turnover
- Yrityksellä ei ole vielä liikevaihtoa. Avainlippu-merkki on kaikilla tuotteilla. Jäsenmaksu on pienin mahdollinen eli 97 € / vuosi.
- Yrityksen kokonaisliikevaihto on 50 000 € ja Avainlippu-palveluiden osuus liikevaihdosta on 30 000 €. Jäsenmaksu on 100 € / vuosi.
Example 2: A medium-sized company with a turnover of EUR 1 million
- Yrityksen kokonaisliikevaihto on 1 000 000 € ja Design from Finland -tuotteiden osuus liikevaihdosta on 800 000 € . Jäsenmaksu on 658 € / vuosi.
- Yrityksen kokonaisliikevaihto on 1 000 000 €. Yrityksellä on kaksi merkkiä, joista Avainlippu-tuotteiden osuus liikevaihdosta on 800 000 € ja Design from Finland -tuotteiden osuus on myös 800 000 €. Jäsenmaksu on 738 € / vuosi.
Example 3: A large company with a turnover of EUR 25 million
- Yrityksen kokonaisliikevaihto on 25 000 000 € ja Avainlippu -tuotteiden osuus liikevaihdosta on 5 000 000 €. Jäsenmaksu on 1990 € / vuosi.

The membership fee, i.e. the fee for the use of a mark, always consists of a membership fee and a mark fee
The fee is based on the total turnover of the company and the turnover of the mark-bearing products. The membership fee for a small business starts from EUR 97 upwards. For a larger company, the fee can be hundreds of euros. The maximum membership fee is EUR 5,900 per year if a company has a valid mark. If you use several different marks, the fee will increase moderately. The company can also be a member of the Association only.
When applying for the right to use the mark for the first time, the company fills in two applications: a membership application and a mark application. The usage fee is called the membership fee.

Other points to note
Minimum and maximum membership fees
The membership fee ranges from EUR 97 to EUR 9,800 per year, depending on the company’s turnover and the number of different mark rights (Key Flag Symbol, Design from Finland or Social Enterprise Mark).
The maximum fees are (membership fee based on turnover + mark usage fee):
- EUR 5,900 if the company only has the right to use one mark (e.g. only the Key Flag Symbol)
- EUR 7,700 if the company has the right to use two marks (e.g. the Key Flag Symbol and Design from Finland)
- EUR 9,800 if the company has the right to use all three marks (Key Flag Symbol, Design from Finland Mark and Social Enterprise Mark)
Fees for municipalities and associations
The membership fee for municipalities, associations and similar bodies is EUR 97 per year. If an association, organisation, etc. has business activities and has applied for one of the Association’s collective marks for its product or service, it is treated as a business and the membership fee is determined accordingly.
Group companies
In the case of a group company, the membership and mark usage fee is calculated on the basis of the group fee table determined by the Board of Directors of the Association.
